Taral Gurung is a Hong Kong-born entrepreneur, engineer, and tech innovator widely recognized for his pioneering work in artificial intelligence, Web3, and the creator economy. Growing up in Hong Kong, he demonstrated a profound curiosity for technology from a young age, famously asking for Windows XP software as a Christmas gift despite it being incompatible with his family's old computer. He attended the YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College, where his analytical mindset began to take shape, setting the baseline for a highly adaptive professional journey.

Though deeply drawn to technology, Gurung initially followed academic encouragement toward the business sector, building an early career in accounting and finance. He accumulated diverse corporate experience by working in various analytical and consulting capacities, including roles as a forensic accountant at Zolfo Cooper, a project consultant at Accenture, and a software engineer at Manulife Investment Management. Recognizing that traditional finance did not align with his true passions, he pivoted back to tech. He pursued formal computing education at the University of Birmingham, specializing in computer science and artificial intelligence before earning a postgraduate degree in machine learning.

Gurung’s entrepreneurial instincts quickly materialized through the creation of ventures tailored toward Millennial and Gen Z demographics. He founded the Excel Pathways Learning Centre, an education bureau-registered school designed to give students from all financial backgrounds a trusting atmosphere to unlock their potential as future innovators. Alongside his educational endeavors, he launched Zenzi Ventures, a business that successfully generated over a million dollars in revenue purely through organic growth without relying on external venture funding.

As his technical acumen matured, Gurung immersed himself further into specialized tech roles, working as a machine learning specialist for Kavida.ai. Driven by a desire to combine his skills in mobile development, JavaScript, and machine learning, he went on to establish Soundbeats Limited (Sound Beats) as its founder and CEO. Through Soundbeats, he has focused heavily on merging AI, music, and blockchain tools to reconstruct and decentralize the creator economy for modern digital artists.

Beyond his professional and technical achievements, Gurung maintains a strong dedication to physical fitness and discipline. He is a lifelong sports lover with more than 15 years of martial arts experience, holding a first-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
